Songs, Stories, and Dogs: The Howlelujah Tour Brings Music, Community, and Animal Advocacy to the South This August

Round Top, Texas — July 2026 — Author and minister "Padre" Bill Miller and musician Joey McGee hit the road across the American South for The Howlelujah Tour — a unifying celebration of music, animal stories, and community connection, with Mystic the rescue dog riding shotgun.

The tour is hosted by churches, bookstores, animal shelters, breweries, pubs, and community organizations, raising awareness and funds for local animal shelters at every stop. The motto says it all: Dog is Love.

"We live in times of deep division in our country and in our world," says Miller. "What could bring us together better than songs, stories and dogs? Add some food and beverages and we will all join in a unifying chorus of Howlelujah! The Howlelujah Tour is an opportunity to join hands and hearts to make a positive difference in our local communities and our world."

Each event blends McGee's soulful music with Fr. Miller's humorous and heartfelt storytelling — an evening that is equal parts joyful, inspiring, and community-building to celebrate kindness and do good. Proceeds from each event benefit local animal rescue organizations.

"Padre" Bill Miller is a writer, speaker, poet, and Episcopal priest from Texas. He is the author of three beloved books — The Gospel According to Sam: Animal Stories for the Soul (20th Anniversary Edition), The Beer Drinker's Guide to God: The Whole and Holy Truth about Lager, Loving, and Living, and The Last Howlelujah: Tails from the Trail. He recently founded Saint Cecilia's, a creative, music-oriented spiritual community in Round Top, Texas after living on the island of Kauai for ten years.

Joey McGee is a singer, songwriter, and poet originally from New Orleans, now based in Central Texas. His music carries a soulful warmth and creative energy. He has drawn comparisons to the legendary Texas songwriter Guy Clark.

Mystic the Dog is a rescue from Kauai, Hawaii, where he was discovered in the Kokeʻe forest near the Waimea Canyon — a former pig hunter who found his true calling on the road. He is the heart and mascot of The Howlelujah Tour.
